LISTEN NOW
Sudafed Sun Daze is a song about death. The fear that envelopes you as it draws near, the journey we all take toward the inevitable and the thoughts and feelings that swirl as we venture down the rabbit hole. We wanted it to be experienced by the listener from their own perspective and dances with death. But also, we wanted to use it to bring attention to the dangers of Fentanyl. These could be the thoughts and feelings someone has as they struggle through a nonfatal overdose or even worse. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. It is a significant contributor to fatal and nonfatal overdoses in the U.S. Powdered fentanyl looks just like many other drugs. It is commonly mixed with drugs like heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine and made into pills that are made to resemble other prescription opioids. It has been found in marijuana as well. Fentanyl-laced drugs are extremely dangerous, and many people may be unaware that their drugs are laced with fentanyl. Drug deaths nationwide hit a new record in 2022. 109,680 people died as the fentanyl crisis continued to deepen, according to preliminary data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This subject is something that is very important to us as we’ve lost a lot of friends along the way and we are striving to help make a difference on whatever scale that may be. Starting immediately, we will have *FREE* Narcan and Fentanyl test strips at our merch tables. We will also have info on 988 and how to use it.
